Facilities Building and Expansion

Often, while visiting practices, we see layouts that fall into extreme categories. Those that are too small for patient volume tend to have:

  • Inadequate boutique
  • No staff space
  • Limited pre-test

While on the other end of the spectrum we see large spaces with poor design elements such as:

  • Too many nooks and crannies
  • Illogical patient and record flow
  • Too many hallways
  • Poor air circulation.

The other common thread is that whether too small, just right or jumbo—office often tend to underestimate storage and business office needs.
