An entrepreneur and leader in the eye care community for more than 40 years, Al is best known as a strategist, innovator and problem-solver. He describes his passion in life as business. “I love business! Businesses where,” he describes, “people get engaged with each other and fulfill the hopes and dreams of stakeholders. I love ideas and putting ideas to work. I am especially passionate about helping others see and realize their own vision.”
Pam loves math. In fact, she says her passion in life is numbers: “I love to put numbers to a spreadsheet and then analyze the various outcomes. I love bringing order to a financial statement!” This works out really well, since Pam is Vice President of Finance and Administration at Cleinman Performance Partners. Pam has 30 years of experience in accounting, management, and computer operations.
Ginamarie is what you call a “lifelong learner.” Most recently, she became a certified Leadership Development and Succession Strategist but is also a Master Certified Coach (MCC), Professional Workplace and Marital Mediator, and Trainer. On the personal development front, Ginamarie is a licensed Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) Master Practitioner and Hypnotherapist. She holds Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in reception theory and social art history from Binghamton University. Her B.A. was a concentration of art management and organizational behavior from Eckerd College.
Ginamarie is experienced in group facilitation as well as personal and executive coaching. So, when she talks about her “passion for bringing the power of creative thinking to individuals, helping to alter the way they see, understand and perceive the world around them,” it is easy to understand why Ginamarie is heading up our Learning & Development department, the place where all our educational products and services offered to our clients are created and delivered.
As she says, she “lives for the A-ha moment!” In her capacity with the company, Ginamarie works both internally with our Cleinman team and with our members to develop training and education programs for leadership and staff development and as a coach/consultant.
In her capacity at Cleinman Performance Partners, Johanna Loeffler oversees the development of client resources, supports all consulting projects, and facilitates the ManagementWorks wisdom-share group at network meetings.
Johanna brings a wealth of practical management training to her role, including certifications in behavioral profiling through DISC, lean management as a Six-Sigma Lean Agent, managing workplace conflict, and emotional quotient interviewing. Her experience and acumen in these areas have positioned her as not only a valuable member of the team, but as a knowledge expert in process, systems, and team dynamics.
Prior to joining Cleinman Performance Partners, Johanna was a licensed life and health insurance agent for a small, independent insurance agency in Charlotte, North Carolina. With her return to upstate New York in 2006, she joined Team Cleinman and began to hone her skills in project management, content development, and event planning, including the Cleinman Performance Partners’ bi-annual 10-Year Member Celebration held in Cooperstown, NY.
Johanna’s aptitudes are not limited to optometric consulting; she’s competed in the longest flat water, one-day canoe race in the world, is an avid 4-point pitch player, and participates in an annual polar bear swim on Superbowl Sunday.
Before joining Cleinman Performance Network, Brett served his country for four years in the Air Force, developed marketing plans for clients in the magazine publishing industry, became a founding principal of a publisher representative firm, and hit the airwaves as news director for Central New York Radio Group. Through his role as client development specialist and in general, Brett hopes to make the life of at least one person a little better: “I don’t need to know how, but that I made a difference.”
For him, Team Cleinman shows a dedication and passion in creating and executing the Network experience that would astonish members. Brett also thinks highly of optical practitioners, saying “none are as caring and dedicated to their craft as optometrists. Network members get it.” When he’s not using his 20 years of sales, marketing, and client development skills on the job, Brett dabbles in cooking (especially gourmet food) and soccer.
A search for harmony drives Scott, with hopes that “the entire race comes to live in harmony; where people of all walks of life will help each other; and greed basically becomes non-existent.” In the business world, he became a specialist in helping people find balance through financing real estate transactions, attending every loan closing personally and ensuring the personal satisfaction of his clients.
Scott joined Team Cleinman with expertise in customer relations and a desire to develop relationships with Network members. In a more literal sense of harmony, Scott loves the sound of music, first listening to it at a young age and then growing into a musician as an adult. Luckily, he’s found co-workers at Cleinman Performance Partners in tune with him, who are “like a family to me . . . I honestly feel like part of a team of people who care about me and each other, and definitely care about ‘why we do what we do.’”
He thinks Network members are pretty special, too: “It’s really amazing to me as I’ve worked with doctors before, and I’ve never felt this way. There is something about ODs … I can’t put my finger on it, but it definitely exists — especially with Cleinman doctors. No doubt about it: they’re the best!”
Megan holds a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity College and excels in aligning an organization’s quality, financial, and service goals with information technology initiatives. Over the last five years in her capacity as a Transactions Consultant with Cleinman Performance Partners, she has honed her expertise in all aspects of transaction work among optometrists from start to finish including financial analysis, valuations, and contracts. Prior to working at Cleinman Performance Partners, Megan worked as a healthcare IT consultant in New York City during the boom of Electronic Health Records and Meaningful Use. She also gained experience in the Optometric Industry while working as a clinic manager for an independent optometrist.
When Molly Mack joined the Cleinman Performance Partners’ team, she was convinced that work could not possibly be as much fun as her colleagues seemed to be having or that her creative skills would be put to good use. In fact, Molly holds an Associate Degree in Photography from Mohawk Valley Community College, and a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in English from State University College at Oneonta. She brings years of creative experience to the team by way of her degrees as well as her work as a production manager for local news outlets, and skill in project management for quality patient services in a large integrated healthcare system.
Molly enjoys the thrill of having to think on her feet whenever life throws her curve balls and chaos, which will serve her well in her capacity with Cleinman’s services division. As the company’s Client Relations Manager, Molly is responsible for the coordination of all service delivery for our client members. Her main focus is ensuring each and every client’s journey with Cleinman Performance Partners is maximized to the fullest extent possible.
Nicole comes to Team Cleinman after receiving her Bachelor’s in finance from Wilkes University. Excited to begin her position as a Transaction Analyst, she loves a good challenge involving organizational skills and critical thinking.
In her free time, Nicole volunteers on the Oneonta Soccer Club board and helps coach youth girls’ soccer. Although she is very dedicated to her work, Nicole’s favorite pastime is spending time with her friends, family, and dogs.
Meagan joins Team Cleinman as Benchmark Specialist, previously working in our call center. Her willingness to pitch in and take on new challenges makes her a valuable member of the team. She wears many hats and takes on varied challenges for the company, including monitoring the members’ area, handling new member processing and maintaining all benchmarking data. Meagan previously worked in childcare and is pursuing a degree in Business Administration.
Joe views the field of IT as a place where there’s new things to learn every day. He has worked in technology since high school for BOCES and the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce. He comes to Team Cleinman from freelancing as a web developer after graduating Morrisville State College with a degree in Web Development. In his free time, he runs a non-profit that operates a week-long summer camp for hemophiliacs. Joe wants to develop his skills further to help people and his community.
Thomas sees his mind as a sponge, soaking up knowledge and new technology, concepts and information. His road to Cleinman Performance Partners held many stops to cultivate new skills and abilities. Thomas began in the communications field at the ripe age of 13, working in his grandfather’s print shop. His journey includes studying illustration and graphic design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, fine arts at SUNY Oneonta and working at a Philadelphia photo studio as a digital artist and information technology expert. He sees his fellow Cleinman team members as “an array of personality types at play, each bringing something to the table. Watching them work together, and working with them, is fun and exciting.” For him, Network members are in it to win it, fundamentally “interested in becoming better people.”
Rosemarie, “Ro,” brings more than 20 years of print production experience. Before joining Cleinman Performance Partners, Ro oversaw print production of major fragrance companies such as L’Oreal, Estee Lauder and Lancôme. She also produced print items for a travel fulfillment company. She calls Team Cleinman “quite a cast of characters with different skill sets who make a cohesive team, are good at what we do and, for the most part, have fun doing it.” Speaking of fun, one of Ro’s passions is snorkeling in St. Thomas! Beyond that, she hopes to help people in need and instill strong character traits in her children, leaving the world a better place.
Mike brings over 25 years of marketing experience to Cleinman Performance Partners as well as experience in Brand and Project Management. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Management and an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. Prior to joining Cleinman Performance Partners, he was the Marketing Director for Sidney Federal Credit Union, and Project Manager for MeadWestvaco/ACCO Brands. During his career he has managed multiple timelines & projects, participated in product development, pricing and design. He enjoys the challenge of developing marketing plans and seeing them to completion.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and golden retriever Argo, drawing and his passion for bass fishing.
Mandie steers Team Cleinman’s call center. She works closely with many Network members through her job, and she enjoys getting to know each one. At Cleinman Performance Partners for more than a decade, Mandie has played many roles and is happy that she “has been here watching the company grow and evolve.” In and out of the office, Mandie hopes to inspire happiness in others and finds pride in taking care of her family and the people in her life.
Naomi takes service and hospitality to new heights with more than 30 years of national experience in the food and beverage industry. It’s no surprise then that her passion is making people happy and paying it forward on a daily basis to make the world a better place. She uses that passion, along with versatility and enthusiasm, to deliver those “WOW!” moments that members and sponsors expect and deserve. Her time with Team Cleinman has taught her the value of change: “Consistent growth in a constantly changing place can seem daunting at first, but I find it both interesting and exhilarating.” As an essential part of Network meeting experiences, Naomi knows a lot about the members. Of them, she says: “Working with our members has been a pure delight. They are all so very much like my children without the muddy shoes!”
With hundreds of strategic thinking, planning, ideation and problem-solving sessions under his belt, Dick knows how to facilitate groups large and small. His clients include industries across the board: Healthcare, manufacturing, public education, religious and retail settings. And he’s brought the SolutionsMapping® process (often referred to as “Storyboarding for Solutions”) to facilitation sessions in Costa Rica, England, Germany, Kenya, Puerto Rico, Thailand and the U.S. Before his career as a facilitator, Dick served as Executive Director of a sizeable multi-children’s service agency in Pittsburgh.
Judith brings writing and marketing talent to the table in her role as facilitator. Since the mid-1980s, Judith has worked as a freelance writer and marketing consultant through her company, Communication Works Now. Her focus since 2010 has been on social media, which offers an effective and affordable tool that “levels the playing field” for small business, healthcare professionals and non-profit groups. Judith shares her social media skills with her community, serving as Chair-elect and Communications Chair for the Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce, Communications Committee member for Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce and Social Media Chair for the Southern Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce.
Lisa Dolezel is our resident consultant for optical business development and retail management. A self- described people junkie, Lisa demonstrates a passion for leveraging the human experience, while cultivating strong systems for organizational development.
Lisa is certified by Leadership Strategies as both a small and large group facilitator, and has been facilitating for Cleinman Performance Partners for approximately five years. Lisa and her team deliver custom consulting and analytic services so that you can successfully navigate everything from small incremental management changes to large complex business development plans.
Lisa joined team Cleinman in 2013. Today, she has just shy of 30 years of professional experience in everything from direct patient care, team building and development, healthcare management and business development.
Following years of experience in customer service, business management and academics, Michelle Sellers began a career in the ophthalmic industry. Today, Michelle supervises the efforts of a team of highly-skilled optometric assistants and opticians who provide unparalleled care to some 45,000 individuals annually in one of three clinical facilities. Her skill as a licensed dispensing optician is evident from the moment she begins to talk about the profession she loves.
Dave is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is currently serving as a volunteer board member for the American Academy of Optometry Foundation and the Southern College of Optometry. He is also serving as a board member for a group of independent optometrists in the DFW Metroplex who are affiliated under the name First Eye Care. In 2015, the Optometric Management trade journal recognized Dave as one of the top 50 most influential people who have made significant contributions to the profession of optometry.
Dave retired in 2014 from Alcon with a career spanning 29 years. Prior to that, he worked 4 years at Oscar Mayer Foods Corporation as a Sales Representative. He attended college at the University of Colorado for two years and then completed his BA degree in 1981 with an emphasis in marketing at Cal State Fullerton. Between college experiences, Dave was a professional ski instructor at Breckenridge, Colorado. Dave and his wife Denise reside in Colleyville, Texas. They have three grown daughters and 2 grandsons.
David brings a powerful blend of knowledge and leadership experience to his role as facilitator. During the last 25 years, David successfully held leadership roles in optometric, orthopedic, urologic and dental group practice operations. With innovative thinking and a proven management style, he delivers positive results across markets, diverse ownership and care teams. In addition to work in the healthcare industry, David is heavily involved in his community, serving as a board member and past president of the Newark Morning Rotary Club in Newark, Delaware, as well as 2015-2016 president-elect of the Research Triangle Park Rotary Club in North Carolina.
Dr. James E. (Jim) Venable, serves as Vice President for Clinical Programs at Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, Tennessee. He is responsible for all budgeting, operations, clinical education and quality of care in the College’s six patient care facilities and programs. Jim has been active in intern and resident education throughout his career having held adjunct faculty status at Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University, Southern College of Optometry, The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, and The University of Houston College of Optometry.
A thirty-year member of the American Optometric Association, Jim has been active in organized optometry as past-chair of the Pediatric & Binocular Vision Committee of the AOA, a Fellow of the Tennessee Academy of Optometry (TAO), Past-President of the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians (TAOP), a member of the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO), a past-chair of the ASCO Clinic Director / Administrators SIG, a past member of the ASCO Legislative Affairs Committee and a member of the Tennessee Independent Colleges & Universities Association (TICUA) Government Affairs Committee.
