Some Thoughts on Innovation from Vision Expo

I recently read an article about Kodak that describes how the Company is using its expertise to help American business reduce the $250 billion lost annually to counterfeiting.  This venerable institution, founded in 1878, came upon some hard times as its original product category, film, was made virtually obsolete by digital technology.  The Company’s stock today is basically at the same place it was in 1965.  Not a pretty picture.  And yet they’ve managed to break out of their 130 year-young box.  Today, 66% of the firm’s $10 billion in revenue comes from products that didn’t exist four years ago!
