Why has the cost of health care risen so dramatically in our country? Why is it that our health care system is ranked only 37th in the world (just above Slovenia and below Costa Rica)? Why is it that our heath care costs are the highest in the world? It’s this author’s opinion that our performance as a society is the result of a combination of employer-based insurance combined with a treatment-oriented payment system. As a result, we’ve removed healthcare decisions from the very people who use the service.
Well, I’m not one to wait for the government to accomplish anything. So, a few years ago, we set out to take a stab at reducing our healthcare costs). And we’ve succeeded! Since 2006, we’ve reduced our firm’s per employee health insurance bill by 41%. Yep
