Network Members Win Big for Local, National Charities
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — Cleinman Performance Network members raised more than $20,000 to benefit eight vision service and volunteer organizations during its Network meetings in Chicago held from August to November.
Network members took to the lanes Saturday night with Bowling for Charity to benefit various groups. The entirety of each gift was made possible through the generosity of Network members and contributions by Alan Cleinman, Cleinman Performance Network’s founder and CEO.
Recipients were selected by winning optometrists at each of the four Cleinman Performance Network meetings.
National and international charities receiving funds from the event are VOSH International, designated by Dr. Brett Freese of Eyes on Main and Dr. David Douglass of Eye Center Northeast, for $5,929.25; the AOA Foundation, designated by Dr. Bill Stephen of St. Lucy’s Vision Center, for $3,035; and Optometry Giving Sight, designated by Dr. Joe Douglas of Douglas Family Vision and Dr. Paul Bernstein of Bernstein for Visual Performance, for $5,251.75.
Local charity recipients are Sauk Centre’s Food Shelf, designed by Dr. Freese for $2,064.25; Saginaw Area Foundation for Eye Care, designated by Dr. Douglas, for $3,187.50; Hope Children’s Home, designated by Dr. Stephen, for $3,035; Bangor Area Homeless Shelter, designated by Dr. Douglass, for $3,865; and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development’s Making Vision Therapy Visible Campaign, designated by Dr. Bernstein, for $2,064.25.
