Sharing Gratitude

Shawn McBride, OD

We have a brief “huddle” in the morning 10 minutes before we open, where we review anything that needs discussion from the previous day, discuss what’s in store for that day, etc. One thing we have started doing is have each team member say something they are grateful for from the previous day. It could be that someone was grateful for another team member’s help with a difficult patient, for example. One catch – they can only use it once. Each day they should have something new to share.

Steps:

Set aside a couple of minutes in the mornings to do it!

Investment:

Just a few minutes of time in the morning.

Benefit:

By setting a positive mood before the doors are opened, it helps create a better patient experience.
